I love the romance of French Country style, so this Marche Aux Fleurs (The Flower Market) stencil is one of my favorites. Stenciling on burlap is a great technique!
Supplies you will need:
12″ Smoothfoam Scrapbook Mount
15″ square of natural burlap
Deco Art Chalky Finish Paint – Carbon
Americana Decor Flower Market 12″ stencil
Iron and ironing board
Optional: 14-1/2″ square unfinished wood frame (12″ square opening; 1/2″ depth)
1. Iron the burlap to eliminate any wrinkles, then wrap it around the Smoothfoam sheet like a present, mitering the corners and gluing the sides tautly to the back.
2. Center and tape the stencil to the right side of the burlap.
3. Apply the paint to the burlap through the stencil using a pouncing motion. Do not overload the brush with paint, but make sure you have good coverage. Carefully remove the stencil and let the painted burlap dry.
4. If you plan to place the panel in a wood frame, paint the frame the same color as the stencil.
